My Story

When I opened my urgent care in 2016, my mission was simple: serve my community and protect life. When the pandemic hit, we were ready. Our centers went on to treat more than 200,000 patients, becoming one of the largest COVID-19 care facilities in Maryland. But as the crisis unfolded, I became alarmed, not just by the virus, but by the politicization of medicine. I spoke out against federal vaccine mandates because I believe medical decisions belong to patients and their doctors not the government. Informed consent and medical autonomy are foundational principles, not political talking points.

At the same time, I became an early and strong advocate for monoclonal antibody treatments. In practice, they were one of the most effective tools available for high-risk patients, representing the cure for COVID-19. We became the largest provider of monoclonal antibody therapy in Maryland, and I witnessed firsthand how timely treatment saved lives. In fact, the US government even asked me to set up and run a facility in partnership with the US Dept of Health and Human Services and the Maryland Dept. of Health in Landover, MD and we became the “blueprint” for the entire national program.

Then federal policy shifted. For the first time in medical history, allocation guidelines for a lifesaving medicine began incorporating DEI-based frameworks that prioritized “equity” over need and clinical judgment. I believed, and still believe, that lifesaving care must be based on medical necessity, not political ideology. Then the administration made the catastrophic and foolish decision to ban monoclonal therapy nationwide, based on poor reasoning and misreading of flawed data. I said so publicly.

I appeared on national media, challenged federal overreach, and criticized what I believed were dangerous and politicized health policies.

Four months later, and completely out of the blue, I was indicted by the Biden Department of Justice for medical fraud. I believe I was targeted through lawfare, a weaponization of federal power against a physician who refused to stay silent and dared to speak truth to power. The indictment contained serious factual errors, even my name was wrong in all their court filings. During pretrial proceedings, the judge himself remarked that it appeared to be a case of “shoot first and ask questions later.” Yet my life and career were turned upside down.

The presiding judge, Chief Judge of the District of Maryland James Bredar (an appointee of President Obama), issued a full acquittal, AND a new trial in case of appeal, in a rare and extraordinary ruling. In a detailed 93-page opinion, he concluded “The government did not carry its burden and no reasonable jury could have so concluded,”,  “there can of course be no crimes if the defendant complied with those rules,” and “The court having closely observed the testimony and parsed the evidence in this case, concludes that the evidence weighs so heavily against the verdict that it would be unjust to enter judgement.”

On its way out the door, the Biden DOJ appealed literally weeks before the inauguration of President Trump and I am now being dragged back into court this August for a new trial.

Today, I continue to fight, not only to clear my name, but to stand against the weaponization of regulatory and legal systems to silence dissenting physicians.

If you believe in medical freedom, clinical judgment over politics, free speech, and due process, I invite you to stand with me. Share the truth. Support the fight.

My oath has not changed. I will continue to protect life, and to speak when patients are being failed.

God bless.
